Are you an enthusiastic and experienced educator with a passion for teaching English to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? A school in Maidstone is seeking an SEN English Teacher who can deliver engaging and tailored lessons, fostering confidence and progress in learners with diverse needs.

As an SEN English Teacher, you will create and deliver engaging English lessons that are adapted to the individual needs of students with SEN. You will play a key role in helping students build their communication, literacy, and critical thinking skills while creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities of the SEN English Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver differentiated English lessons to meet the needs of SEN learners.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to student requirements.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes learning and development.
  • Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants, parents, and other professionals to ensure consistent support.
  • Use creative teaching approaches to engage and inspire students.

Requirements of the SEN English Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience teaching English, preferably with a focus on SEN students.
  • A deep understanding of SEN teaching strategies and practices.
  • Strong communication, patience, and empathy.
  • Understanding of various SEN conditions.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
