About the Company - Our client, a well-established retail business based in Manchester City Centre, are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to lead their finance function and support strategic decision-making.
Reporting into an experienced Finance Director, this role will manage a small team with oversight of all accounting activities across the group, including accounting operations across the transactional finance team.
Salary - £65,000 - £75,000
Key Responsibilities -
- Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and month end reporting.
- Manage and provide leadership to the finance team, ensuring efficient workflow and development of team members.
- Have full oversight of all accounting activities across the group, including accounting operations across the transactional finance team.
- Prepare and present financial reports to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax requirements, and company policies.
- Manage cash flow, risk assessment, and cost control measures.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to drive business growth.
- Key audit stakeholder management, being a key point of contact with our auditors and allocating queries appropriately throughout the business.
- Other ad hoc projects as and when required assisting finance and other departments.
Key Skills and Experience -
- Proven experience in a finance leadership role.
- Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience in managing and mentoring a finance team, including oversight of transactional finance operations.
- Proficiency in financial software and Excel.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with senior stakeholders.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
