About the Company - Our client, a well-established retail business based in Manchester City Centre, are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to lead their finance function and support strategic decision-making.

Reporting into an experienced Finance Director, this role will manage a small team with oversight of all accounting activities across the group, including accounting operations across the transactional finance team.

Salary - £65,000 - £75,000

Key Responsibilities -

  • Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and month end reporting.
  • Manage and provide leadership to the finance team, ensuring efficient workflow and development of team members.
  • Have full oversight of all accounting activities across the group, including accounting operations across the transactional finance team.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax requirements, and company policies.
  • Manage cash flow, risk assessment, and cost control measures.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to drive business growth.
  • Key audit stakeholder management, being a key point of contact with our auditors and allocating queries appropriately throughout the business.
  • Other ad hoc projects as and when required assisting finance and other departments.

Key Skills and Experience -

  • Proven experience in a finance leadership role.
  • Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring a finance team, including oversight of transactional finance operations.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
