Axon Moore are working with an exceptional business based in South Manchester who area looking to recruit a Group Accountant to become an integral member of the Group Finance function.  Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, the successful applicant will hold a varied role, taking responsibility for reporting. This role could provide an ambitious candidate with the experience and achievements that could enable them to enhance their career trajectory.
    • Manage the financial records for head office units, including posting journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and preparing annual statutory accounts.
    • Assist in the management of both group and individual audits.
    • Contribute to the preparation of monthly management accounts.
    • Aid in the production of the group’s comprehensive annual report.
    • Help coordinate the preparation of subsidiary financial statements, ensuring consistency with established reporting templates.
    • Assist in the integration of newly acquired businesses and handle acquisition accounting as required.
    • Help develop and maintain corporate accounting policies and procedures.
    • Provide expertise in UK GAAP and offer guidance to other finance team members on accounting matters.
    • Draft specialized accounting reports and papers as needed.
    • Support the upcoming transition to IFRS accounting standards expected in upcoming years.
    • Process improvement.
The successful Group Accountant will have the following background;
  • ACA or ACCA Qualified having trained in an accountancy practice. 
  • Possess a high level of people and relationship skills.
  • A desire to develop a broad skill set beyond statutory accounting and continuously drive improvements as part of a growth journey.
