What you'll do:

As Statutory Reporting Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in driving excellence within our finance and accounting department. You will be one of the key points of contact with external audit teams, focusing on continuous improvement across our processes while aiding in the development of new ones. Your role will involve preparing financial statements, liaising with auditors, preparing journals, presenting technical accounting papers, and advising on changes in accounting standards. Your commitment to teamwork will see you supporting your colleagues on regulatory reporting queries and offering guidance where needed.

  • Act as the overall lead of the preparation of the extended trial balance for each set of statutory financial statements.
  • Ensure the successful delivery of external audits and develop strong relationships with audit teams.
  • Work closely with the General Ledger team and external advisors in the preparation of statutory accounts.
  • Prepare technical accounting papers to explain accounting judgements to key stakeholders.
  • Support the General Ledger team on ad-hoc regulatory reporting queries, and work with the wider team to offer support and guidance.
  • Prepare analytical reviews for the income statement and balance sheet.

What you bring:

  • ACA or ACCA Qualified, with a solid foundation in accounting principles.
  • Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to stay highly organised and maintain a diligent and structured work approach.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering results under tight deadlines.
  • Proactive and willing to challenge and improve existing processes and controls.
  • Strong attention to detail with a naturally inquisitive mindset.
  • Excellent team player, able to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
