An exciting opportunity to join a leading chemical manufacturer who are seeking a National Account Manager to manage their key accounts and drive growth across the UK.

Client Details

Our client manufactures adhesives, binders, coatings and compounds globally, they are seeking an experienced National Account Manager to manage large spend UK customers and deliver growth across the UK.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and growing key national accounts, developing strong relationships with customers, and driving sales growth within the flooring industry. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the flooring sector, particularly in compounds and materials used in flooring products.

Description

  • Account Management:

    • Manage and nurture relationships with key national accounts within the flooring industry.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for existing clients, ensuring their needs are met and addressing any concerns.
    • Develop and execute account plans to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Business Development:

    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with national and regional flooring manufacturers and other end users
    • Develop strategies to expand market share and penetrate new markets within the flooring sector.
  • Sales & Revenue Growth:

    • Achieve sales targets by increasing revenue within existing accounts and securing new business.
    • Collaborate with the sales team to develop pricing strategies, proposals, and contracts that align with business objectives.
    • Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Product Expertise:

    • Develop a deep understanding of the compounds used in flooring applications, including PVC, rubber, and other materials.
    • Provide technical support and product knowledge to customers, ensuring they have the right solutions for their needs.
    • Stay up-to-date with product developments and innovations in the flooring industry.
  • Customer Relationship Management:

    • Build long-lasting relationships with customers, understanding their business needs and objectives.
    • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective communication, problem-solving, and proactive service.
    • Regularly visit customers and conduct meetings to discuss product performance, new opportunities, and customer feedback.
  • Collaboration & Coordination:

    • Work closely with internal teams, including product development, marketing, and operations, to ensure alignment and smooth execution of projects.
    • Coordinate with supply chain and production teams to ensure timely delivery and quality control of products.
  • Reporting & Analysis:

    • Prepare regular reports on sales performance, account activities, and market trends.
    • Analyse sales data to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Chemistry, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in account management or sales within the Construction chemicals industry
  • Strong knowledge of compounds used in flooring applications (e.g., Resins, Compounds, Adhesives).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to meet with clients across the country and internationally
  • Experience in working with national or large regional accounts.
  • Technical background in materials science or chemistry.
  • Familiarity with flooring manufacturing processes and industry standards.
