Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform laboratory investigations in line with Trust protocols, ensuring high standards of accuracy and professionalism.
  • Contribute to the delivery of diagnostic services within the pathology department.
  • Assist in the supervision and training of junior staff and students.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate patient records in compliance with hospital standards.
  • Ensure safe and efficient use of equipment and resources.

Essential Criteria:

  • IBMS Accredited Biomedical Sciences Degree (or equivalent degree accredited with IBMS).
  • Current HCPC Registration as a Biomedical Scientist.
  • IBMS Specialist Diploma in Non-Gynae Cytology (or equivalent level of knowledge).
  • Demonstrable Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience in Non-Gynae Cytology.
  • Experience working in hospital-based laboratory settings.
