Description

We are working with a FMCG Manufacturer who are looking for a Technical Manager to join their team based in South Manchester.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Standards. Ensure all our customer and accreditation standards are up to date. Lead cross functional teams to carry out gap analysis to ensure we adhere to standards and any changes. Sharing the data across the team as to where improvements are required.
  • Quality Management System: Work with the Quality Managers and Quality & Product Director to ensure we are compliant across our QMS system.
  • Internal Audits: Leads our internal audit programme, maintaining a clear schedule, updating the schedule where necessary and targeting a risk assessed based approach. From the system ensure that non-conformances are highlighted, tracked & closed out in timely manner.
  • External Audits: Plays a key role in our external audits alongside the Quality Managers and the wider team.
  • Non-Conformances: Tracks our internal non-conformances, sharing the data and running a management programme with the Quality Managers.
  • Complaints: Coordinates our Complaints Management System to provide data, trend analysis and insights internally and externally.
  • Raw Materials: Ensure our raw materials are managed diligently, covering risk assessment, TACCP and VACCP. Supporting the Raw Materials Technologist with any escalating issues with noncompliance or any critical issues arising from Horizon Scanning.
  • Customer Specifications: Ensure the Technical Services Technologists are supported to maintain accurate customer specifications. Provide the team with the necessary skills to sign off artwork accurately.
  • Team: Lead, motivate and inspire the Technical Services Team, ensure the team are knowledgeable, having training plans in place where necessary and operate collaboratively right across all business and customer teams. Ensure the team are compliant across all aspects of their roles and their work is carried out diligently and thoroughly.
  • Customer management: Work with the wider Quality Team to ensure across the team customer and supplier quality and technical management is effective. Noncompliance and complaints are dealt with effectively, KPIs and trends are identified and actioned.

Qualifications, Experience and skills

  • FMCG/Food Manufacturing (Desirable)
  • Cross functional understanding & impact Quality Management Systems; Product Quality Evaluation (PQE), Process Control Documentation, Complaint Investigation
  • Food Safety Level 3
  • Leadership skills and excellent communication

Salary:
