We are looking for a passionate Teaching Assistant to work at a welcoming SEN School based in Blackley. As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a range of social, emotional, and mental health needs. Working alongside the class teacher, you will assist in delivering tailored learning strategies and interventions, ensuring students can succeed in a nurturing and safe environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN/SEMH.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers and support staff to foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Assist in maintaining classroom order, fostering a positive and stimulating learning atmosphere.
  • Establish effective communication with parents, teachers, and external professionals.
  • Regularly monitor and evaluate the academic and social progress of students with SEN.
  • Adapt teaching materials and resources to accommodate diverse learning needs.

Requirements:

  • Experience working or volunteering with SEND children (preferably with autism/ADHD experience).
  • Strong behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Caring and empathetic personality.
  • Commitment to safeguarding children.
  • A DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
