Proactive Personnel are currently searching for 3 x Plant Operators/Production Operators for an international manufacturing company working in the food and beverage industry. These positions are all permanent working on shift pattern that consists of nights and days however no working on the weekends. Our client is one of the largest manufacturers of fragrances, food colouring and flavourings working with some of the world’s biggest brands.

Main Purpose:

With the direction of the Supervisor, efficiently carries out all activities, necessary to ensure that:

  • Plant is operated at the maximum efficiency, lowest costs, to the required Quality, Safety & Environmental standards and that Customer’s requirements are met
  • Raw materials and supplies are unloaded per requirements and schedules
  • Products are produced in accordance with known procedures and specifications
  • Products are dispatched in compliance with customers requirements
  • Plant and surrounds are maintained in conditions appropriate to a Food Processing facility
  • Carry out any multiple purpose tasks as may be required by the Plant Manager
  • Carry out process analysis
  • Analyse both products and raw materials against specifications

Day to day responsibilities

  • Unload all raw materials and supplies in accordance with the formulations
  • Inspect, fill and seal tankers
  • Cook product in cookers in accordance with specifications. Watch the temperature and pressure of cookers. Vent and cool when necessary in accordance with requirements, operate Foxboro
  • Take samples from cookers and maintain a log of cooking operation
  • Laboratory work including but not limited to: product testing, equipment calibration and product release to customers.
  • Filter finished product into designated storage tanks, complete associated paperwork and make appropriate adjustments as required
  • CIP cookers, filters, and any other equipment in accordance with G.M.P. (good manufacturing practises)
  • Advise Plant Manager of any leaks in product lines of hose connectors, also reporting of any dangerous equipment or occurrence
  • Obey the rules and regulations of the company as defined in Associate Handbook
  • Perform duties such as clean up and general housekeeping tasks, maintaining all work areas in a neat and tidy condition. Ensure all equipment hoses, tools etc. are returned to their proper storage areas after use and carry out such other duties as assigned by the Plant/Production Manager from time to time. These duties to be carried out whilst maintaining normal cooking. This will include recording and signing daily cleaning log as necessary
  • Assist in carrying out routine maintenance when necessary
  • Ensure on-hold material is logged, segregated and reworked as appropriate
  • Participate in data collection and environmental monitoring as required

Requirements

  • High flexibility to deal with multiple tasks and/or changing tasks
  • Able to operate J.D.E. computerised system
  • Familiar on use of Excel spreadsheets
  • Become familiar with any new technology introduced and assist with training others
  • Be able to lift up to 25kg
  • Be able to work on feet all day and be able to climb stairs and ladders
