Sellick Partnership has been engaged to recruit a permanent highly skilled and experienced Head of Investment Reporting for a leading reputable, instantly recognisable, profitable and long established financial services organisation based in Greater Manchester.

Reporting into the Group Finance Director you will be responsible for leading the team that is accountable for the investment accounting process, including valuations and daily box management. You will oversee outsourced investment accounting, provide technical accounting support, and drive investment data controls. This role involves significant change management on new product types, ensuring timely delivery of new asset classes, products, and regulatory developments.

Therefore you will lead the management of the financial close process, which includes producing a full and complete ledger (interfaces, reconciliations and both actuarial and financial journals) as well as cost, project, investment and tax accounting for the Group and its subsidiary companies. This role includes ownership, control and running of the daily box management process including resolving issues and reducing the risk and exposure.

You will be provided with a supportive, collaborative, and open environment to think creatively. A key component of this role is building trusted and meaningful relationships with key stakeholders. You will provide credible insights and challenge, drawing on your business knowledge. Your role has the option to include attending leadership committees focusing on identifying and mitigating strategic, operational, financial and risk.

The ideal candidate for this position will have significant relevant industry experience (financial services) with a demonstrable track record of undertaking similar roles. You will need strong experience of building a team (excellent delegation skills is a must) and have good investment accounting knowledge - basically if you don't understand a derivative from an OEIC there's no point in applying!

The successful candidate will be operationally and commercially focused on business drivers and outcomes and can communicate complex financial matters clearly and precisely to a variety of senior stakeholders.

You possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, allowing you to effectively identify and assess risks, advise on mitigation strategies, make informed decisions and create a buy-in to the strategic vision.

You will be a proactive self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. You will be comfortable delivering constructive challenge, oversight and advice to stakeholders at levels.

You need great influencing and presentation skills coupled with the ability to communicate confidently and effectively with all levels across the business.

You need to have strong commercial acumen and the ability to critically review work to identify potential issues, weaknesses, errors and omissions.
