An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join a leading construction company in Manchester known for its commitment to excellence and innovation. This company stands out in the industry by fostering a collaborative environment that encourages professional growth and development. The Senior Finance Business Partner will play a pivotal role in driving financial performance and strategic decision-making within the business unit.As Senior Finance Business Partner, you will effectively act as Finance Director, responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the business unit, ensuring accurate reporting and providing commercial insight. This role requires a strategic mindset and the ability to analyse data effectively, making it ideal for a finance professional looking to make a significant impact.

This is a hybrid position, where you will balance time at the Manchester offices, with a day a week in London and ad-hoc travel to sites to meet with project teams.Responsibilities include:

  • Provide strategic advice to the Executive manager of the business unit, acting as a trusted partner.
  • Own the business unit P&L, including bid costs and overheads, and present management reports to senior leadership.
  • Prepare all monthly management reports and analyses, including planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting standards while reviewing financial transactions and results.
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify key risks and opportunities, ensuring transparent reporting throughout the business.

Skills and attributes required:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in the construction sector or related industry is essential, to include complex accounting for long term contracts.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide insightful financial analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across various teams.
  • Willingness to travel to various UK sites.
