Group HSEQ Manager

Our Role

A new exciting role within the central HSEQ team has become available, to establish and deliver the needs of the HSEQ Management System during a time of business growth.

As the Group HSEQ Manager, you will report to the Head of HSEQ Governance and will be responsible for establishing central health, safety, environment, and quality systems across the Network Plus Group. You will manage a team of HSEQ Advisors and Co-ordinators and support the Head of HSEQ Governance to implement initiatives, systems, processes, activities, regulatory monitoring and compliance requirements across the business to deliver the HSEQ strategy.

You will be responsible for providing HSEQ support, guidance and driving a positive safety culture whilst demonstrating leadership behaviours and setting high standards. This role will require considerable interaction through engagement and consultation with our stakeholders across all areas of the business, ensuring that all HSEQ standards and initiatives are fit for purpose.

You will have a passion for ensuring exceptional levels of health, safety, quality and environmental standards are delivered; putting in place the processes and reports to continually monitor and maintain quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as SME to provide technical direction on Health and Safety, ensuring legal updates are anticipated and systems are embedded to react to such changes
  • Develop annual plans to maintain the HS&Q Management System, ensuring they are fit for purpose
  • Develop and manage plans to deliver initiatives to meet HSQ targets and objectives.
  • Maintain oversight of incidents, near misses and hazards ensuring effective reporting is achieved
  • Lead incident investigations as required to support the business
  • Promote and support the company Behavioural Safety Programme BE:SAFE
  • Manage and ensure an effective HSEQ Risk Register
  • Maintain HSEQ training and induction standards to ensure they remain fit for purpose across the Group
  • Establish fit for purpose Construction Design Management procedures and controls
  • Establish a robust Health Surveillance and Fit to Work requirements are set to meet business and legal requirements. Set compliance targets and standards, ensuring compliance can be effectively measured
  • Establish robust criteria to ensure effective contractor and supplier onboarding and control
  • Participate and support HSEQ requirements for tenders
  • Provide comprehensive management reports in line with the governance structure
  • Build and maintain relationships with the client and external organisations, including the HSE and Local Authorities
  • You will drive the correct and safe behaviours out on site and within the office

Experience and Qualifications

Essential

Experience in a similar HSEQ leadership role

  • Health & Safety Qualification e.g. NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Incident Investigation Root Cause Analysis
  • Working knowledge of ISO 45001, 14001 & 90001
  • Working knowledge of CDM requirements for Principal Designer and Principal Contractor
  • Proven experience of analysis to identify continual improvement
  • Demonstrable Project Management Capability
  • Proven experience of managing and developing a team
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable

  • Utilities experience
  • Chartered Practitioner (or working towards)
