Kassim Darwish Grammar School for Boys(KDGB) is a thriving independent grammar school with approximately 160 boys aged 11-16 on roll.  The school combines a faith-based education with the national curriculum, providing students with an excellent education in a safe and caring Islamic environment that encourages personal growth and individuality. The school is part of Manchester Islamic Educational Trust (MIET) who are seeking to appoint a new Headteacher who is an inspiring leader with a strong commitment to excellence and who shares their passion for creating a supportive, inclusive, and ambitious environment where both pupils and staff can thrive.

KDGB was established in 1999 and is located in a traditional building steeped in history. The school strives to create a harmonious balance between academic rigour, sports, cultural activities, and community involvement.  The aim is to foster intellectual curiosity and social awareness in its students.  While academic knowledge is essential, there is a shared belief that a true education challenges students to push the boundaries of their understanding.

KDBG is one of three independent Islamic schools within MIET. The other schools are Manchester Islamic Grammar School for Girls, established in 1991, and Manchester Muslim Preparatory School, established in 1994.  The Trust’s faith-based ethos influences every aspect of school life, creating a welcoming, family-oriented atmosphere among staff and students.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the new Headteacher to lead a highly qualified, skilled and committed staff team, who are motivated to continue the school’s progress, and a vibrant student body. Given the school’s Islamic foundation, this role is central to inspiring young boys to learn and practice Islam, making it essential for candidates to be practising sunni Muslims.

This is an exciting opportunity for a forward-thinking senior leader, with a proven track record of school improvement, to make a lasting impact at a school where tradition and innovation in learning work hand in hand. The successful candidate will embody the core values of respect, resilience, and responsibility, with a clear vision for advancing academic standards, pastoral care and engagement with parents and the wider community.
