2nd/3rd Line Service Desk Engineer - 32K - 40k
The client I'm working with is seeking a Service Desk Engineer to join their technical team. This is an ideal opportunity for a 2nd Line professional aiming to advance into a 3rd Line role or for an experienced 3rd Line engineer looking for a great fit.
Job Summary:
Your main role will to be support and resolve incidents and problems affecting the network in Manchester and will involve travel to different sites in Manchester on a regular basis.
Responsibilities:
- Build, maintain, and upgrade user PCs, laptops, and other hardware, ensuring the necessary software is installed and properly configured.
- Provide first and second-line support to over 1,000 users across multiple sites
- Log all support calls in the Helpdesk system, tracking updates and resolutions.
- Complete daily and weekly systems checklists, which include tasks such as monitoring backups, reviewing overnight batch jobs, checking scheduled updates, and error log evaluations.
- Participate in the on-call rota, providing 24/7 out-of-hours support to business systems, garages, call centers, and operational staff.
- Implement software changes to bespoke systems, adhering to the established Change Control process.
Essential Criteria:
- Experience working in a 2nd/3rd Line Position.
- Windows 10/11
- Office 365
- Active Directory
- Citrix
- Exchange
- Experience providing remote support
- A driving license
For this position you will be expected to work non business hours including evenings and weekends and also available for on call duties (1 week in 4) and site visits.
