An independent and highly regarded planning consultancy is looking for an Assistant Town Planner to join their growing team in Manchester. The Role
If sucessful, you will join the Planning Consulting team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Assistant Town Planner with 1-2 years of experience to gain hands-on experience in strategic planning, project management, and environmental planning. Working closely with senior consultants, the successful candidate will help deliver planning applications, manage stakeholder relationships, and contribute to the success of high-profile residential developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the preparation and submission of planning applications
- Supporting large-scale residential projects through the planning process
- Conducting research and preparing reports, including planning statements and EIA reports
- Liaising with clients, local authorities, and external consultants
- Monitoring project timelines and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations
Requirements
- 1-2 years of experience in planning consultancy or a local planning authority
- A relevant Honours or Master's Degree in Town Planning or a related discipline
- Strong understanding of UK planning policy and regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive approach, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a small, dynamic team
- A full UK driving licence is beneficial but not essential
