Job Title: Associate Town Planner
Location: Manchester | Preston | Lichfield

Are you an experienced Town Planner ready to step into a leadership role? We have an excellent opportunity for an Associate Town Planner to join a top consultancy with offices in Preston, Manchester, and Lichfield. This role offers the chance to manage high-profile projects across sectors including Commercial, Leisure, Energy, Housing, and Sport, while mentoring junior planners and playing a key role in shaping the future of the consultancy.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage complex planning applications and appeals.
  • Provide strategic planning advice and direction to clients across multiple sectors.
  • Conduct detailed site appraisals, policy reviews, and feasibility assessments.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver successful, innovative solutions.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while supporting business development efforts.
  • Mentor and guide junior members of the planning team.


Requirements:

  • Relevant degree in Town Planning or a related field.
  • Significant experience as a Town Planner, ideally within a consultancy or local authority.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK planning legislation, regulations, and policy.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple large-scale projects and deliver on time.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and report-writing skills.
  • Chartered status with the RTPI or working towards it.
