The successful candidate will play a crucial role within the Procurement Team, providing day-to-day support for Civils sites in material procurement. - Manage daily material procurement for sites
- Assist in tendering, comparing, and implementing new Framework Agreements
What you'll do:
As a Buyer, your role will be pivotal in supporting the day-to-day operations of our client's Civils sites. You will be responsible for managing material procurement for sites, procuring materials and external plant hire in line with established Framework Agreements. Your ability to collaborate effectively with site personnel will be key to meeting their requirements. Additionally, you will ensure that data management systems are consistently updated and maintain accurate central electronic filing records. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to the growth and development of the business.
- Serve as an integral member of the Procurement Department
- Organise and file emails, tender inquiries, and quotations within the online document server
- Prepare and distribute tender inquiries via email or post
- Manage daily material procurement for sites, including ordering consumables, signs, office equipment, and materials for major packages
- Procure materials and external plant hire in accordance with established Framework Agreements
- Collaborate with site personnel to meet their requirements
- Ensure data management systems are consistently updated
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date central electronic filing records of all relevant documentation
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Buyer position brings strong IT skills and proven administrative accuracy in a high-pressure environment. Experience within a similar role within a Construction company is essential. You possess excellent planning and prioritising skills, with the ability to spot opportunities and problems in the medium and long term. Your effective communication skills enable you to adapt your communication style according to your audience. You are adept at problem-solving, looking objectively at each situation before deciding on an appropriate course of action. Your adaptability allows you to manage change and remain flexible to individual situations.
