Hybrid working

Duty and assessment social worker required to cover a recent vacancy. You will work on a team with 1 Team manager, 2 Advanced practitioners and 4 social workers of varying experience. You will be on duty week once every 5 weeks and in between duty weeks will be completing assessments of children to assess the risk for them and determine their level of need.

You will be expected to visit children regularly and be confident in engaging children to understand what life looks like for them. Be able to co-ordinate and chair CIN meetings and strategy meetings in a timely manner and ensure we have a working plan for the child to reduce risk and access early support for children and families.

You will be expected to adhere to timescales for children which includes seeing children in timescales and also completing assessments in timescales. You will be on a supportive team and whilst the area has high demand caseloads on duty do not exceed 25.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience in statutory social work functions, including safeguarding and support.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to social work practice.
  • Commitment to promoting social change, safeguarding vulnerable individuals, and maximising independence.
