About the Role

As an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) within the Emergency Duty Team, you will respond to urgent mental health and safeguarding crises, ensuring individuals receive the care and protection they need. You will work closely with health professionals, emergency services, and social care teams to manage risk and provide swift, appropriate interventions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake urgent Mental Health Act assessments in partnership with health professionals.
  • Make informed decisions in high-pressure situations, balancing legal frameworks, risk, and human rights.
  • Provide out-of-hours emergency social work support across adult services.
  • Work collaboratively with police, ambulance services, hospitals, and community mental health teams.
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed and vulnerable adults receive the right intervention.
About You

? A qualified and registered Social Worker with AMHP status.? Experience working in crisis intervention, mental health services, or emergency duty social work.? Strong knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Care Act, and safeguarding procedures.? Ability to work independently under pressure, making swift, evidence-based decisions.? A flexible and resilient approach, with a commitment to supporting individuals in crisis.
