About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Wythenshawe. This role involves providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to achieve their full potential in a nurturing and structured learning environment.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children with a range of SEN, including Autism, ADHD, and speech & language difficulties.

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities.

  • Adapt resources to meet individual learning needs.

  • Promote positive behaviour and social development.

  • Provide emotional and pastoral support to children.

  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).

  • Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment.



Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN.

  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant, SEND qualification) is desirable.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to supporting learning.

  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
