Job Title: Special Needs Teaching Assistant (Primary School)
Location: Wythenshawe, Manchester
Salary: 90-105 per day
Contract Type: Term Time Only
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Wythenshawe. This role involves providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to achieve their full potential in a nurturing and structured learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support children with a range of SEN, including Autism, ADHD, and speech & language difficulties.
Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities.
Adapt resources to meet individual learning needs.
Promote positive behaviour and social development.
Provide emotional and pastoral support to children.
Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
Requirements:
Previous experience working with children with SEN.
A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant, SEND qualification) is desirable.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to supporting learning.
A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
