Reed Accountancy and Finance are currently assisting our globally recognised client based in Maryport, with the recruitment of a Management Accountant to join their team on a full time and permanent basis.

This role involves preparing accounts for business operations, implementing company KPIs, and providing detailed financial analysis and reporting. The successful candidate will report directly to the Financial Controller for the UK & Ireland and will play a crucial role in financial planning and control.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Prepare and reconcile manufacturing accounts monthly, ensuring all financial activities are recorded accurately and submitted for audit.
  • Manage journals and post month-end entries, prepare VAT submissions, and handle payroll information including PAYE and salary payments.
  • Develop and submit weekly and monthly cash forecasts and assist in the preparation of annual budgets.
  • Conduct regular reconciliations of intercompany accounts and balance sheet accounts.
  • Maintain an ongoing audit file and assist the Financial Controller with year-end budgets and other financial reports.
  • Regular filing of account information and handling ad hoc reporting requests as needed.
  • Share responsibilities for answering incoming calls and taking messages.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • This role would be suited for someone either currently working as a Management Accountant, or waiting to take the next step to become a Management Accountant
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with various teams.
