A dynamic and forward-thinking construction consultancy is seeking a skilled Building Control Surveyor to join their established team based in the Midlands. This consultancy provides high-quality building control services across a diverse portfolio, ensuring compliance with building regulations and delivering excellence in all aspects of building safety and quality assurance.

The Building Control Surveyor Role

The successful Building Control Surveyor will be responsible for managing a range of projects, providing expert guidance on building regulations and compliance throughout the design and construction phases. You will work closely with clients, contractors, and design teams to ensure building standards are met, carrying out inspections, reviewing plans, and offering professional advice on all aspects of building safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting site inspections and assessments to ensure compliance with building regulations.
  • Reviewing architectural drawings and specifications for adherence to regulations and safety standards.
  • Providing expert advice to clients and contractors on building regulations, fire safety, and sustainability.
  • Preparing detailed reports and maintaining accurate records of all inspections and assessments.
  • Engaging with design teams and project stakeholders to promote high standards of safety and compliance.
  • Issuing completion certificates and handling any regulatory queries that may arise.

The Building Control Surveyor

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Building Control Surveyor.
  • In-depth knowledge of building regulations and compliance standards.
  • Membership with a recognised professional body such as RICS, CABE, or CIOB.
  • Strong background in construction, surveying, or a related discipline.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
