Client Details

A prominent UK-based food manufacturing company, established by a successful entrepreneur, is widely recognised for its large-scale operations in the poultry and food processing industries. Headquartered in the Midlands, this firm has grown through a series of acquisitions and now operates a diverse portfolio of brands.A huge supplier in the poultry sector this is why this new role in the organisation has come about.

Description

This role will see you responsible for the identification and securing of sites for new poultry farms in Scotland. Your aim will be to secure land opportunities and options in line with the prevailing company strategy and operational requirements.As a successful Land Acquisition Manager you will have excellent organisational, negotiation and communication skills with an ability to manage a busy and varied workload of projects efficiently.

Key Skills, Experience and Knowledge

  • Proven experience of land purchasing and negotiation, ideally within the Agricultural sector
  • Extensive contacts within the Scottish rural sector
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the land market in Scotland
  • Thorough knowledge of the land acquisition process (including Option agreements) in addition to that for Town and Country Planning and Environmental permitting
  • Strong organisational and management skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships based on integrity, trust, and respected financial/ budgetary judgement.
  • Flexible with the ability to prioritise effectively and to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to exercise independent professional judgement within an overall business context.
  • Ability to see the big picture while focusing on the process and procedures necessary to produce deliverables.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to meet and establish deadlines.
  • Professional qualification Degree in land / estate management or similar

Profile

This role is ideally suited to Land Agents or similar who have extensive networks and a proven track record in land transactions (both buying and selling)

The key to this role is your network in Scotland and being able to source plots of land to aid this clients expansion. If you can demonstrate that, this will be a huge factor in the client offering you the role.
