Madisons Recruitment are recruiting for an Enabling Quantity Surveyor on a permanent basis for a client of ours located in Hook.
You will be joining our clients Demolition Division to oversee the commercial and contractual management of our projects, from inception to final account.
Responsibilities
- Manage applications for payment, including the valuation of variations, and loss and expense claims.
- Agree interim payment amounts with clients and monitor payment notices, ensuring deadlines for due/received/outstanding payments are met.
- Prepare and manage project budgets alongside Contracts Managers and Operations Director.
- Oversee the monthly reporting process and Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR).
- Monitor project budgets against actual costs and forecasts on a monthly basis.
- Send subcontractor enquiries, analyze quotations, and manage placement of orders, interim payments, and final account agreements.
- Assist in preparing and submitting tenders.
- Ensure all contractual obligations are fulfilled and advise Contracts Managers on all commercial matters, including variations and delays.
- Conduct site visits to monitor potential variations and ensure proper site records are maintained.
- Lead and motivate teams, setting clear expectations and providing both informal and formal feedback on performance.
- Foster strong relationships with key clients to enhance the company’s reputation and ensure client satisfaction.
- Prepare concise commercial reports that provide a clear overview of contractual performance, highlighting risks and opportunities.
Requirements
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to communicate financial and contractual matters in a clear and concise manner.
- Solid understanding of the JCT Standard Forms of Contract and similar contracts.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and as part of a team at all levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and finance systems.
- Experience in a Quantity Surveyor (QS) role, ideally within the demolition or enabling works sectors.
- Experience in subcontract order placement and procurement.
- A Degree in Quantity Surveying or a professional qualification (MRICS or MCIOB).
- Full UK Driving Licence.
