The Trainer in Childcare will be the key partner to learners and placement providers. They will work with learners to ensure they are supported to achieve their best, whilst developing long-term relationships with employers that will increase placement opportunities they can offer to learners.Main Duties of the Trainer in Childcare:

  • To carry out learner assessments and observations in Workplace settings using an electronic portfolio. To carry out teaching and learning within the qualifications.
  • To mark learner work and give developmental and constructive feedback.
  • To set SMART individual targets.
  • To track and record progress of learner's and provide regular updates to the Team Leader
  • To take proactive measures to ensure that learners achieve their qualifications within the allotted time. To work as part of a wider team and contribute in a positive way to recruitment, standardisation and ongoing improvement in quality and performance.
  • To contribute to the wider engagement with employers in order to maximise opportunities.
  • To participate in the provision of First Aid assistance if required.

Role Requirements:

  • Experience of working in an early-years setting as a Nursery Officer or similar role
  • Qualified in Early Years, L3 or above
  • Hold an Assessor award or be willing to work towards
  • Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and team working
  • Able to work in an organised and methodical manner
  • Good use of IT skills / Google Classroom
