Executive Director of Marketing
Location: Teesside
Salary: Up to £70,384.70 per annum with a market leading benefits package which includes 44 days holiday and a local government pension scheme.

Middlesbrough College is the largest further education provider in Teesside. It provides predominantly further education but also selected higher education provisions to over 13,000 students. Middlesbrough College also employs over 1,000 staff out of their £100m state of the art campus on the banks of the tees.
Responsibilities;
Lead on the development, implementation and guardianship of the Middlesbrough College Group brands.
Oversee the annual marketing strategy with a focus on creating impactful content across multiple external platforms and channels and on the Group’s website and social media channels.
Oversee the creation of integrated marketing communications campaigns for the range of target markets, meeting the needs of the Group’s managers, departments and other internal customers.
Ensure the Group leads a digital first approach to marketing where necessary and to embed the skills across the team. Ensure AI is used appropriately within marketing and work to the appropriate policy and guidelines.
Oversee the delivery and development of high-quality, accurate publicity and promotional materials, including all prospectuses, that comply with brand, visual identity, style and messaging guidelines
Manage the annual marketing budget and allocate resources effectively working with the Group’s finance team.
Ensure regular market intelligence and competitor analysis is carried out and make recommendations for changes to develop and/or maintain competitive advantage.
Manage senior relationships with media buying agencies, printers, PR agency and scrutinise effectiveness and impact of all work.
Ensure an annual PR strategy is in place working with the appointed external PR agency to deliver regular positive messages about the Group and handle any crisis PR situations quickly and professionally.
Provide expert advice, training and guidance on marketing, PR and student recruitment to wider teams across the Group.
Oversee the student recruitment function, leading on the development of local and regional student recruitment strategies and ensuring recruitment and conversion targets are set and achieved.
Ensure careers information within prospectuses, marketing materials and on the Group’s websites are up to date and accurate and the regular checking and updating of specific course information is carried out.
Ensure that the schools liaison team build and maintain effective networks with key external stakeholders such as feeder schools and careers advisors and that the annual plan of activity is completed leading to achievement of full-time school leaver recruitment targets.
Oversee the delivery of high-quality and positive recruitment open days and celebration events such as the annual student awards and graduation which project a positive perception for the Group.
To lead on all aspects of the Admissions function across the Group, to include management reporting information, ensuring that all applicants and their parents receive a proactive and first-class service taking them from application to enrolment.
To oversee the planning, and implementation, of admissions processes required for an effective summer enrolment to support the achievement of recruitment targets for all programmes.
Support the Senior Leadership Team and Principal and Chief Executive with marketing, communications and PR advice.
Manage any major agency tender and contracts process following Group procedures and guidelines.
Represent Middlesbrough College Group at appropriate external events, meetings and organisations where relevant to marketing, communications, student recruitment, admissions or other strategic objectives.
Line management of 3 direct report and a further 13 indirect reports.
To actively participate in Continuous Professional Development including the introduction of new technologies to allow you to contribute effectively to the success of the College.

Requirements:
A degree, higher degree or relevant profession qualification at Level 6 or above such as a CIM in Marketing.
A leadership qualification (Desirable)
Evidence of working at strategic level in marketing, ideally in an education setting or a large organisation, with responsibility for developing strategic plans in line with organisational goals and ensuring the successful implementation of plans.
Strong interpersonal skills: communicating, explain, persuading, negotiating - to staff at all levels.
A track record of success in providing strategic leadership to a broad range of marketing, recruitment and communication projects.
Proven brand development and sub-brand introduction experience.
Ability to plan targets and deliver strategic/innovative marketing, student recruitment, PR, communications campaigns, processes and projects
Experience in planning a range of small- and large-scale events.
Strong writing and proof-reading skills.
Ability to analyse written and statistical information and identify implications.
Excellent level of IT skills.
Ability to generate clear and concise reports.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to chair groups and meetings, complete financial planning and be an effective college management team member.
