Social Worker - Assessment Team

We are seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join our front door service, MACH. This role is crucial in triaging information that comes into the local authority, determining the appropriate course of action for children and families, and providing support where necessary. The successful candidate will work with our assessment teams to fully understand any risks and needs, offering either brief support or longer-term intervention.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Triage information and referrals that come into the local authority.
  • Conduct thorough assessments to understand the risks and needs of children and their families.
  • Provide brief periods of support before signposting to other services or step down to Early Help services.
  • Work collaboratively with other social services for longer-term intervention when required.
  • Engage in developmental work across the service to enhance practice and outcomes for children and families.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A recognised qualification in social work and registration with the relevant social work body.
  • Experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of the challenges faced by children and families.
  • Ability to conduct thorough and sensitive assessments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with children, families, and other professionals.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
