Responsibilities:

  • The Assessment Teams work with children, young people and their families where referrals into children's social care have identified a need for Level 4 support.
  • Each team has a duty cycle of 1 week and are allocated oversight of their children and families within this cycle.
  • Social workers in the Assessment Teams complete S47 visits to children following strategies.
  • Progress children's planning to Initial Child Protection Conferences and Public Law Outline where required prior to transfer to the SCP teams.
  • There is some initial court work undertaken, however this is minimal as involvement transfers to the SCP teams at the first hearing.
  • Direct work with our children and young people is an integral part of the Assessment Teams practice as this helps us to understand children and young peoples lived daily experiences.
  • The Assessment Teams work collaboratively with children, young people and their families and also with agency professionals as part of producing robust meaningful assessments of children and young people's needs.

Requirements:

  • Social Work Qualification or equivalent
  • Social Work England registered
  • Enhanced DBS
