If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join a successful IT Solutions company based in Middlewich. They are looking for a Senior IT Support Engineer to join their team to provide 2nd and 3rd line support to a growing customer base.
The company has been operating for 20 years and service small to medium sized businesses across Cheshire. They have a focus on innovation and customer satisfaction, which has built them a reputation for excellence in the IT industry.
We are ideally looking for someone with 3 years' experience in a similar IT Support role who is a confident communicator and ideally has worked in customer-facing roles in the past.
As a Senior IT Support Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Accurately and efficiently troubleshoot software and hardware faults for customers, either remotely or out on client sites.
- Take ownership of user problems and be proactive when dealing with user issues.
- Provide support for existing IT systems, infrastructure and networks.
- Support on existing and new IT projects - including making technical recommendations in the scoping of IT projects for clients.
- Audit new clients IT systems and infrastructure, reporting back to customers on the findings and making recommendations for improvement where possible.
- Work towards and complete Microsoft Certifications to support development.
- Conduct system audits and assessments to ensure compliance and security best practices.
Skills/Experience required:
- At least 3 years' experience in a similar role and broad technical knowledge.
- Windows Servers (2008 - 2019) and Desktop Operating Systems (7/8/10)
- Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP
- Understanding of networking protocols - LAN/WAN, Switches, Routers, Firewalls
- Microsoft Exchange
- Office 365 administration and configuration
- Virtualisation technologies (VMware and/or Hyper-V)
- Excellent communication skills and confidence in a client-facing role
The role will involve some travel to local client sites (all within 1 hour) so a full UK driving license is essential for this role. There is a company vehicle available for use and a fuel card for business use.
This is an office-based position between Monday and Friday with working hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm, with 1 week in 4 on call.
