We are currently seeking a motivated Assistant Accountant to join our client's dynamic team based in Milton Keynes. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is looking to build their career in finance and accounting within a supportive and growth-focused environment.
As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the finance team, assisting with daily accounting functions, and ensuring the accuracy of financial records. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers and journals.
- Process invoices, payments, and receipts in accordance with company policies.
- Reconcile bank accounts and assist with month-end and year-end processes.
- Assist in preparing VAT returns and other statutory reports.
- Support with audits and provide required documentation as needed.
- Assist in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Handle general accounting inquiries and assist with any ad-hoc tasks or projects.
Key Requirements:
- AAT/degree qualification (or equivalent) or pursuing a professional qualification is desirable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and VLOOKUP).
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
