Pertemps Milton Keynes branch are currently recruiting an experienced Planning and Procurement Manager for our client based in Milton KeynesJob Description:As a Planning and Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials for our production facilities.Your primary focus will be on ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, as well as planning and managing inventory levels to meet production demands.Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure the continuous supply of materials.
  • Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, evaluate supplier performance
  • Researching, monitoring and analysing products, suppliers, and prices, whilst making changes to ensure the competitive supply driving cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with production teams to forecast material needs and create procurement plans.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the warehouse team to optimise stock levels and reduce excess inventory.
  • Developing, building and maintaining work schedules from scratch.
  • Forecasting levels of demand.
  • Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, costs, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Give presentations on market analysis and possible growth.
  • Keep up to date with trends and innovations in food production, regulation and new technology that can improve our production methods and lead to higher quality products.
  • Develop production schedules and plans through analysing our sales forecast and predicting demand for the factory production plan.
  • Monitor production processes, recommending ways to improve efficiency, determine new equipment requirements. 
  • Support our team leaders to organise operational staff into shifts
  • Monitoring material supplies and purchasing against the plan/schedule to make sure we always have the correct raw materials in stock.
  • Prepare performance reports regarding performance, delivery and attainment of production plans.
Successful ApplicantsA team player who can quickly build relationships at multiple levels, with at least 5 years of experience as a Production Planner.Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft tools, possess strong numerical skills, and are an effective communicator.You will have excellent attention to detail and time management capabilities, thrive on meeting deadlines, and enjoy solving problems.You are a skilled negotiator and are not afraid of challenging conversations.Ideally, you have an interest in healthy, sustainable food and connect with our mission of helping people eat real food.How to Apply:If you are a proactive and strategic thinker with a passion for production and procurement, we would love to hear from you.
