Workplace description: Located within Exmoor National Park, this amily-run hotel, hotel is just 550 yards from Dunster Castle. The restaurant is open for dinner with the menu varying nightly and a breakfast buffet, including full English breakfast, is available. The hotel is 1.2 miles from the sea and just 2.5 miles from the West Somerset Steam Railway at Minehead.


Job description: Management of the hotel and its staff in the absence of the Hotel Manager. Primarily you will be accountable for leading front-of-house reception, reservations and food & beverage operations to deliver exceptional standards.


Key Responsibilities


Meeting and greeting customers (individuals and large groups)

Be hands-on and involved in the day-to-day running of the hotel, which may include carrying out anything from reception duties to serving meals and drinks in quieter periods

Assisting with Company Health and Safety Procedures

Cash Handling, security procedures

Addressing problems and troubleshooting

Overseeing the service of Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner in the Dining Room.

Dealing with customer complaints and comments


Essential criteria: Have Strong Management and Leadership ability

Have previous Hotel experience as a Duty Manager (Front of House and Bar/Restaurant experience is also preferable)

Have previous experience with a hotel management software

Have excellent Communication Skills

Pay attention to detail

Have the ability to multi-task, work under pressure and manage several different tasks at the same time

Have a reliable and stable work history

Be flexible, work shifts will predominantly include afternoons, evenings, weekends and bank holidays
