About the role - Behaviour Mentor - Merton

  • Providing assistance to students in classrooms
  • Work closely with other staff members, such as behaviour mentors, youth workers, and pastoral care workers
  • Providing 1:1 direct intervention and support within the classroom
  • Contribute to creating a positive learning environment for students in collaboration with the class teacher
  • Observe and evaluate pupils' responses about the progress of their learning and interventions
  • Ensure that all pupils are included in the classroom
  • Provide support to the class teacher when it comes to managing classroom behaviour
  • Maintain communication with the behavioural and SLT teams regarding the progress of the students
  • Support young people who struggle in the classroom by mentoring them
