About the Role:

Our Client is seeking a skilled and experienced Housing Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Nelson, Lancashire. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of housing projects, including cost control, value engineering, and contract administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost plans and estimates for housing projects
  • Monitor project costs and identify potential cost savings
  • Manage variations and claims
  • Prepare and submit interim and final accounts
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders
  • Conduct site visits to assess progress and identify potential issues
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field
  • Proven experience in quantity surveying within the social housing sector
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in construction software (e.g., Excel, CostX, Asite)
