Mental Health Specialist - Newbury Immediate Start - Full TimeAutism and Complex Needs

Academics LTD are working with an outstanding SEN school in Newbury who provide highly skilled personal provision for children aged 5 to 18 with mental, emotional and social needs. The school is looking for a bubbly and supportive Mental Health Specialist. The position offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience working alongside qualified SEN practitioners and psychologists.

As a Psychology or Criminology Grad, this is also a great opportunity to gain valuable experience in an education setting. If you are someone who wants to work in psychology or Mental Health, this is a fantastic school to work with. Recognised qualifications include Degree, Level 3 qualifications + or any other experience working with SEN children, however experience isn't mandatory.

This is also an excellent opportunity for anyone seeking experience working in Education, Teaching or Mental Health. The Mental Health Specialist Specialist role will enable you to deepen vital skills through working on a 1:1 and group basis with children experiencing behavioural difficulties, including Autism and Complex Needs.

Mental Health Specialist Requirements:

  • Understanding of Social and Emotional Mental Health (SEMH)
  • Ability to work with children with a range of needs: Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome, behavioural challenges, sensory issues, physical disabilities and communication difficulties.
  • Helping students develop emotional regulation and social skills
  • Demonstrated Interest in working with children or in Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • You are resilient, positive and caring
