This is an excellent opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join a rapidly expanding business in Newcastle. Offering hybrid working, a 35 hour week and 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.This is a fast-paced and busy environment where you will play a vital role in supporting the finance department's day-to-day operations and contribute to maintaining accurate financial records, complying with regulations, and enabling informed decision-making within the organisation.As an Accounts Assistant, your job responsibilities typically involve supporting the finance team with various tasks to ensure accurate and timely financial records; responsibilities include:* Maintaining and updating financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, through data entry and bookkeeping software* Verifying and processing invoices from suppliers, ensuring they are accurate and properly coded* Reconciling and processing employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies* Matching and reconciling transactions between company records and bank statements to ensure accuracy* Assisting in the preparation of financial statements and reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements* Assisting with financial analysis and reporting, including budgeting, variance analysis, and forecasting* Supporting the preparation of documents and data for internal and external audits.* Providing administrative support to the finance department, such as filing, organising documents, and handling correspondence* Ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and internal financial policies* Utilising accounting software and other financial tools efficiently to perform tasks accurately* Communicating with suppliers and customers regarding financial matters, such as payment status and enquiries* Helping with tax-related tasks, such as gathering documents for tax filings and assisting with tax return preparation* Staying updated on changes in accounting principles, regulations, and industry best practicesWhat you need to do nowIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.If this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion about your career.
