Job Description: EstimatorSearch Consultancy are looking to employ an Estimator for the North East region. As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing and securing profitable work, reporting to the Pre-Construction Director. Your primary duties will involve working closely with clients, designers, and the bid team throughout the tendering process, ensuring that submissions are accurate, competitive, and meet client requirements.________________________________________Key Responsibilities:* Serve as the primary point of contact with client's professional teams during the tendering process.* Communicate and establish tender requirements with the bid team.* Collaborate with internal and external designers to produce pricing-ready designs.* Take off quantities from tender drawings and build rates for Bill of Quantities.* Assemble and issue supply chain inquiries and support tender planning.* Contribute innovation and value engineering to tender submissions.* Liaise with the team to ensure the submitted tender meets or exceeds client needs.* Present and submit tender documents to the Company Directors.* Manage the tender process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.* Participate in post-tender negotiations with clients.* Ensure smooth handover of successful tenders to the delivery and commercial teams.* Assist with the development and implementation of digital tools for cost take-off and 5D planning.________________________________________Continuous Improvement & Development:* Contribute to business improvement by identifying issues and proposing solutions.* Follow QEMS procedures and suggest improvements.* Promote teamwork within your team and across departments.* Participate in ongoing training and skills development activities.* Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.________________________________________General Requirements:* Maintain safety and efficiency according to company policies and HSE guidelines.* Communicate clearly and effectively with clients and staff.* Demonstrate initiative, time management, and attention to detail, working independently with minimal supervision.* Adhere to company structure, values, and procedures.________________________________________Person Specification: Senior EstimatorQualifications:* Relevant construction qualifications (HNC, HND, Degree)Experience/Skills:* Tender document analysis* BIM-enabled design and costing* Developing sub-contract terms* Experience in planning, reading technical drawings, and risk assessment* Commercial awareness and business case development* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills* Ability to meet tight deadlinesKnowledge & Other Relevant Factors:* Understanding of construction processes, materials, and contract law* Familiarity with emerging technologies and lean methodologies* Waste management and quality assurance knowledgeIf this sounds like a role you would be interested in please apply here.
