Head Chef

Bridge Tavern is an established insitituion on Newcastle's Quayside, famed for it's craft beers, Sunday Roasts and the best outdoor terrace in toon. Our team is passionate about food and hospitality, and we are looking for a talented Head Chef to join us to lead our kitchen.

As our Head Chef, you will oversee kitchen staff, ensure that high standards of quality and sanitation are maintained, and contribute to the development of new dishes and menus. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative and driven professional who wants to take their skills to the next level.

Key Responsibilities as a HeadChef:

  • Lead the planning and executing of daily service.

  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring all team members meet our company standards.

  • Maintain consistency and quality in daily food presentation and menu development.

  • Manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure proper stock levels using order sheets.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen.

  • Oversee cleanliness and maintenance of KP area.

  • Independent working is expected on occasion.


Qualifications as a HeadChef:
  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous in similar setting.

  • Food Safety Level 3 desirable but will be provided if necessary.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train staff.

  • Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.

  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • A passion for food and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes.

  • Ability to work independently.
