Based from plush offices in the centre of Newcastle, this broker arranges the insurances of many of the North East’s largest and most complex businesses - including household names. Here, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a team of 3 experienced Corporate Account Handlers, ensuring that they deliver an exceptional level of client service. This includes liaising with a range of stakeholders such as department heads to deliver a coordinated approach, ensuring that KPI’s are achieved. You will be responsible for training, development, and ensuring that your team are aware of the full suite of products and services available to clients, and that they remain alert to opportunities to promote these. You will also be responsible for allocating workloads, and ensuring that all tasks are carried out in a timely and accurate fashion that complies with FCA regulations and inhouse protocols. In addition to managing a team, you will be personally responsible for the day-to-day servicing of a portfolio of corporate clients. These are likely to be some of the more complex cases held by the Newcastle Branch, often those generating in excess of £500K gross written premium. This will include handling renewals, mid-term amendments, dealing with general enquires, negotiating with underwriters, and preparing a variety of reports.We welcome applications from both experienced managers, as well as from candidates with some informal supervisory experience who are confident in their ability to step up and lead a team. However, it is essential that you have a sound understanding of all common commercial covers such as Property, Liability, Financial Lines and Commercial Motor. Whilst it is not a prerequisite that this experience is from a similar corporate insurance environment, you must have dealt with some more complex, middle-market accounts rather than just SME cases. As well as candidates from an account handling environment, we are keen to hear from candidates who wish to transition into the world of corporate broking. You must have excellent communication skills and be able to develop strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
