Public Childcare Solicitor

Adecco are currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Public Childcare Solicitor to join our client's legal team in the field of child protection. As a Public Childcare Solicitor, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of vulnerable children and families, while working in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing expert legal advice and representation in public childcare matters, including child protection cases, care orders, and adoption proceedings.
  • Conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and preparing cases for court hearings.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, including children, parents, and local authorities, and maintaining effective communication throughout the legal process.
  • Attending court hearings and advocating on behalf of clients, presenting compelling arguments and providing reassurance and support.
  • Collaborating with other professionals, such as social workers, medical experts, and educational staff, to ensure the best interests of children are upheld.
  • Keeping up-to-date with changes in legislation, case law, and best practise in the field of child protection.

Requirements:

  • Qualified solicitor or with a minimum of 3 years' experience in public childcare law.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989 and the Adoption and Children Act 2002.
  • Proven experience in handling complex and sensitive cases involving child protection and welfare issues.
  • Excellent advocacy, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • High level of empathy, compassion, and sensitivity towards clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding professional ethics.
  • Ability to manage a challenging caseload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Continuous professional development in the field of child protection law is highly desirable.
