CompanyNigel Wright is delighted to be supporting a successful manufacturing business in their search for a Product Manager.. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced product manager seeking  a new challenge to join a growing business with significant investment.  Whilst the preference would be for candidates to be based within a commutable distance of the site in County Durham, we would also welcome applications from out of area candidates willing to spend regular time in the North East office.RoleThe product manager will be responsible for enhancing sales of three market leading brands through the implementation of product strategies, inclusive of developments, pricing, campaigns and maintenance.   Key areas of responsibility include:
  • To oversee the development and improvement of products within assigned portfolio.
  • To create products which represent the customers values by understanding the target customers experience and determining a roadmap to meet requirements.
  • To present a business case for product developments and determine the profitability of these opportunities.
  • To work with the product development and account management teams, the dealer network and the end customer; to establish product requirements for all projects.
  • To have a robust process for conducting ‘voice of the customer research’ throughout the development project.
  • To examine and benchmark competition products to ensure a competitive position in the market.
  • To develop’ top down’ product pricing strategies, based on conducting price vs volume analysis, identifying the optimum market placement.
  • To develop good relationships with dealers to gain an understanding of their requirements,
  • To commercially monitor sales of the products and produce monthly analysis on profitability.
  • To build a roadmap for Value Analysis & Value Engineering (VA/VE) in partnership with the purchasing and R&D teams.
  • There will a requirement to travel to customers and provide support at key trade shows and events.
Experience
  • Previous experience in product management roles within a Manufacturing oriented business. 
  • Experience with product development of high revenue / investment projects. 
  • Experience of B2B/B2C or complex customer environments 
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in product management 
  • Knowledge in marketing and how to take products to market   
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Competent in Microsoft office.
  • Good organisational skills
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of creativity and initiative
  • Commercially astute and skilled at analysing data
