I am delighted to be supporting a Newcastle-based public sector organisation on the appointment of a Procurement Manager to join them on an interim basis to support them during a transitional period until they appoint a new Procurement Manager.

As the Procurement Manager, you will report to the senior leadership team and take full responsibility for the procurement activities across the organisation. You will be responsible for a team of procurement professionals at various levels of their career, however you will have extensive experience with managing and running a procurement team and have operated within public procurement legislation. With the impending changes in public procurement legislation due to be completed in October 2024, you will take the lead to ensure the team is up-to-date and fully equipped for the impending changes. You will have overall responsibility for the procurement strategy and ensure the delivery of procurement activities inline with the organisation requirements. To succeed in this role, you will have extensive experience in running a procurement team at a management level within a public sector organisation and ideally, be able to support and develop an existing team through the new changes in legislation. This opportunity is expected to last around 6 months whilst the organisation appoints a permanent Procurement Manager.
