We are working with a well-established regional accountancy firm that provides expert accounting, tax, and advisory services to a diverse client base across Staffordshire. Known for their supportive working environment and commitment to staff development, the firm is seeking an Accounts Senior to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a broad range of clients while progressing your career in practice.

Your New Role as Accounts Senior:

As an Accounts Senior, you will play a key role in supporting a varied portfolio of clients, delivering high-quality compliance services, and assisting with the development of junior team members. The role offers a mix of accounts preparation, tax compliance, and client advisory work, giving you broad exposure within the practice.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare financial statements for limited companies (FRS 102, FRS 102 Section 1A, and FRS 105), as well as some sole traders and partnerships

  • Prepare corporation tax computations and self-assessment tax returns

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts

  • Prepare VAT returns and provide client bookkeeping services

  • Liaise with clients to resolve queries and build strong working relationships

  • Review work prepared by junior staff and provide constructive feedback

  • Undertake and perform other related duties as required to support clients and the wider team

The Experience & Qualifications Required:

The successful candidate will be AAT qualified or part-qualified ACA/ACCA, with at least three years of experience working within an accountancy practice. A strong working knowledge of UK GAAP and FRS 102 (including Section 1A) is essential. You should also demonstrate excellent client communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a busy practice environment.
