Financial Controller – Newport
Salary: £45,000.00 to £50,000.00 (DOE)
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Working hours: Monday – Friday
We are seeking an experienced an experienced Financial Controller to join a large UK leading company based in Newport.
The Role:
As the Financial Controller you will take full responsibility of the finance department and report directly into the managing director. You will take ownership over producing timely and accurate management accounts for a number of different sites, integrating newly acquired businesses and new developments into the trading company. The Financial Controller will need to work with each site to ensure accurate reporting.
Main Duties:
As a successful Financial Controller, you will have a positive and proactive approach to the finance department. You will be required to communicate efficiently and effectively throughout the business. You will have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail with a good understanding of financial operating systems. Duties will include, but not limited: ·
- Full production of monthly management accounts including analysis and commentary
- Prepare company budgets, forecasts, and cash flow.
- Reconcile balance sheet
- Control of fixed asset register
- Responsible for payroll and pensions
- Oversee Purchase & Sales Ledger
- Credit control & debt management.
- Complete all HMRC returns including VAT and other statutory returns
- Leadership and management of two team members
- Chemical concentration checks for all related areas/Awareness and observations on chemicals and consumables stock levels.
- Ensuring adherence to schedules/tasks and visual inspection of activities to ensure correct standards.
- Checking of Hygiene records to ensure completed correctly.
- Communication and feedback any issues to relevant department.
- Training of operatives on cleaning tasks and duties required.
- Investigations into accidents and food safety incidents.
- All other duties required to deliver an effective Hygiene service to the business.
- Demonstrating skills and knowledge to an auditor and assist in audits.
About You:
- Fully qualified accountant with at least 3 years’ experience - Preferred: ACCA, AAT (level 4), CIMA, ICAEW
- Solid technical background
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid organisational skills
- Able to use standard Microsoft office packages: Word, Excel.
- A hands-on, can-do attitude with initiative to work well individually and in a team
