Role: Quality Technician

Location: Newport

Salary: £30,000

Shift: 7.30am - 4.30pm (7.30ampm)

This is an excellent opportunity for a Quality Technician to join an established engineering business in Newport.

This market leading company operates in a wide range of industries including aerospace, defence, automotive and transportation, employing over 4,500 people in 22 countries.

Responsibilities:

Main responsibilities:

  • Perform final Inspection, being responsible for the quality of product leaving the factory guided by job instructions, standards and specifications
  • Carry out other inspection duties, such as PPI, as required, in support of production
  • Carry out all laboratory testing requirements on test specimens in accordance with customer specifications and international standards
  • To maintain the laboratory test specimen results database/spreadsheet.
  • Compile and publish laboratory reports indicating results of test specimens as requested
  • Participate in RCA at site to help decrease non-conformance trends
  • Monitor laboratory data for trends and act pre-emptively to prevent non-conformities
  • Carry out final release documentation checks and sign Certificates of Conformance
  • Liaise with Customers and Suppliers as required to resolve issues
  • Become familiar with AS9100 and NADCAP process requirements
  • Liaise with internal departments to troubleshoot on a daily basis and work towards eliminating sources of non-conformance
  • Perform internal audits as required to support the site's quality management system
  • Assist with maintaining and monitoring the site's quality management system processes and approvals such as calibration, document control and training
  • Operate in a safe manner and undertake any training necessary to enable you to fulfil the requirements of your position

Qualifications, experience and skills:

  • Familiar with Lab procedures and methods
  • Familiar with Inspection techniques
  • Ability to read and follow drawings / specification
  • High Level of attention to detail
  • Good communication skills

Salary / package:

  • Pension - match contribution from 4% - 10%
  • Life Assurance – 2 x annual salary rising to 4x within Company pension
