Accounts Senior Required

In this role, you will manage a portfolio of clients, providing high-quality tax, accountancy, and VAT services with a high degree of accuracy. You will be responsible for the preparation of accounts and tax returns for a variety of clients, including Sole Traders, Partnerships, and Limited Companies.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare accounts for a variety of clients (e.g., Sole Traders, Partnerships, and Limited Companies) from client records for review by a manager or reporting partner
  • Send final accounts to clients
  • Assist staff with account completion
  • Set budgets for staff members
  • Prepare and review Tax Returns
  • Calculate income tax liabilities and advise clients
  • Prepare and review Corporation Tax Returns
  • Calculate corporation tax liabilities and advise clients
  • Forecasting work
  • Handle everyday correspondence and emails in a timely manner
  • Manage tax enquiries as they arise
  • Prepare management and financial accounts
  • Assist with coaching and developing junior team members, including on-the-job training
  • Provide software training to clients
  • Complete timesheets daily
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with industry changes

Required Experience:

  • At least 1 year of recent post-qualification experience, or at least 3-4 years working in practice, with experience in accounts preparation, business and corporate tax, and ideally personal tax
  • Accounts preparation experience in a fast-paced accountancy practice environment

Desired Skills:

  • AAT Level 4 qualified with 1 to 2 years post qualification experience
  • Strong computer and spreadsheet skills
  • Experience with accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, or Xero, and accounts production software like CCH
  • Initiative and ability to work effectively within a team
  • Strong client relationship-building skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build rapport at all levels
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload while exceeding client expectations
  • AAT qualified
