About the role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Fostering Supervising Social Worker to join our team in Devon County Council. You will play a vital role in supporting and supervising foster carers, ensuring the safety and well-being of children in their care.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Undertake regular supervisions with foster carers, providing guidance and support.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of foster carers to ensure suitability.
- Develop and implement support plans for foster carers and children in their care.
- Liaise with other professionals involved in the child's care, such as social workers, teachers, and healthcare providers.
- Attend relevant meetings and panels, representing the views of the foster carer and child.
- Provide training and development opportunities for foster carers.
- Participate in quality assurance processes to ensure high standards of care.
Skills and Experience
- Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England.
- Significant experience working in fostering or children's services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding children.
