Chef/Cook
- Hourly Rate: £13.50
- Location: Flexible within the facility
- Job Type: Part-time (24.75 hours per week)
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Chef/Cook to join our team. This role requires competence in all aspects of kitchen duties and the ability to produce a variety of menus, including catering for special dietary needs, while adhering to a budget.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Prepare menus in line with the allocated food budget.
- Cook and serve meals chosen by the Service Users, ensuring economical use of stock and maintaining quality.
- Develop a four-weekly menu with the Head Chef, considering seasonal variations and dietary requirements.
- Ensure safe food storage, conduct regular stock rotations, and check “use by” dates.
- Maintain strict hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen, including regular temperature checks and equipment cleaning.
- Supervise kitchen staff, assist with training, and participate in staff reviews.
- Handle and record payments for staff meals in accordance with company policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Must hold an Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Nursing Home environment is desirable.
- Ability to prepare a variety of menus and cater to special dietary needs.
- Strong understanding of budget management and food safety regulations.
- Excellent communication skills and professionalism.
- High standard of personal hygiene and presentation.
