Barton Peveril is a vibrant and innovative sixth form college and this is an exciting opportunity to lead our excellent Careers Department. The team includes an Aspire Programme Coordinator, Careers Advisers, a Work Experience Coordinator and Work Experience Administrator. The ideal candidate is forward thinking, aware of the changing needs of the workplace and has the skills and experience to manage a high performing department. They must be keen to ensure that we fully prepare our students for the demands of the 21st century. The ability to work with young adults of all abilities is essential and the successful applicant must have excellent one-to-one guidance and group work skills. The candidate must be proactive in forging wide links with universities, professional associations and businesses. The role requires strong IT skills and a familiarity with careers software would be an advantage. The ability to engage creatively with young people both in group interactions and in guidance interviews is essential. The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level and possess a Level 6 Diploma in Career Information and Advice. The post would suit a leader who is keen to make a difference in the aspirations and achievements of our young people.
