Assistant Finance Manager

I am currently supporting an internationally recognised logistics company based near Northampton (some hybrid working on offer), who are looking to recruit a Assistant Finance Manager initially on 6 month fixed term contract.

My client is looking for an ambitious, commercial focussed Accountant to join this team of talented individuals within their head office function. They are hoping to secure someone who is on-track to be a fully-fledged Finance Manager in the next couple of years, offering guidance and support to get to that level.

You'd be getting involved in a variety of different task including producing the monthly management accounts, weekly flash reports, business partnering with senior stakeholders and additional project work to improve profitability of the contract.

Key responsibilities:

• Preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Variance analysis and commentary on performance against budget and forecast.
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations, able to put controls in place.
• Support the Senior Finance Manager and Senior Account Director with ad-hoc commercial projects.
• Identify areas for process improvement and drive efficiencies across the finance function.

Key requirements:

• Part-qualified / finalist accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) ideally looking for your first move into the 'commercial world’ with experience in stakeholder interaction.
• Experience as an Assistant Management Accountant or Management Accountant in a fast-paced environment.
• Ambitious with strong commercial acumen and proven business partnering skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
